1. Who We Are

This website is operated by Digital Shaman (“we”, “us”, “our”). For any privacy-related questions, please contact us at the email address provided at the bottom of this page.

2. What Data We Collect

When you submit the birth data form, we collect:

• Full name
• Email address
• Date of birth
• Birth time (if known) and accuracy selection
• City and country of birth

We also collect limited analytics data (page views, anonymised usage patterns). No cookies are used for analytics.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to:

• Generate your personalised sidereal sun sign reading
• Deliver the reading to the email address you provide
• Send occasional updates and astrology insights, if you opt in to the newsletter (see below)

We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use it for any purpose beyond what is described here.

3b. Newsletter Opt-In

When submitting the form you may optionally tick a checkbox to receive occasional emails about new features, updates, and astrology insights. This is entirely optional and does not affect your reading.

If you opt in, we will use the email address you provided to send these communications. Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You may withdraw your consent at any time by clicking that link or by contacting us directly — see section 9 for contact details.

4. Third-Party Services

Your data is shared only with the following processors:

• Airtable (data storage)— Your submission is stored in Airtable for fulfilment and record-keeping. Airtable hosts data on EU servers under GDPR-compliant data processing agreements.
• Brevo (email delivery)— Your reading and any newsletter emails are sent via Brevo. Brevo receives only the information needed to deliver email to you (name and email address). If you opt in to the newsletter, Brevo also manages your subscription preferences.
• PostHog (analytics)— We use PostHog in cookieless mode to understand how visitors interact with the site. PostHog receives anonymised usage data hosted on EU servers. It does not receive your name, email, or birth data.

Reading calculations: The astrological calculations used to generate your reading rely solely on your birth data (date, time, and place of birth). No personally identifiable information such as your name or email is used in the calculation process.

All processors are bound by data processing agreements and comply with EU data protection standards.

4b. Information Stored on Your Device

To save you re-entering your details on a return visit, when you submit the birth data form we save a copy of the following in your browser’s local storage:

• Full name and email address
• Date, time (if provided), accuracy, and place of birth
• Your newsletter preference

This information is stored only on your device — it is not sent anywhere new and is not shared with any third party. Your consent to the disclaimer is deliberately never saved, so you will be asked to agree to it again each time you visit.

The saved details remain on your device until you remove them. You can clear them at any time by clearing your browser’s site data. Because this lives in your browser, it will not carry over to another device or to private/incognito browsing, and we are unable to retrieve or delete it on your behalf (see section 6 for the rights that apply to the data we hold on our servers).

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to deliver your reading and respond to any follow-up inquiries. You may request deletion at any time (see section 6). Analytics data is retained for up to 13 months in accordance with PostHog’s retention policy.

6. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to:

• Access— request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Rectification— request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion— request that we delete your personal data
• Portability— receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Objection— object to processing of your data
• Withdraw consent — withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
